Design that earns trust before it makes a case

Visitors judge credibility long before they read your copy. Type choices, spacing, image quality and interaction polish tell them whether you are the safe choice or a risk. That judgement happens in seconds, and it decides whether the rest of your marketing gets a hearing.

Our design process starts with positioning, not layout. We define what you want a visitor to believe, who your competitors are and how they present themselves, then design a visual language that sets you apart rather than blending into the category. From there we design in a system: a spacing scale, a type scale, a colour palette with deliberate accent use, and a component library that keeps every page consistent as the site grows.

The result is a site that feels considered on every page, including the ones designed months after launch.

  • Brand and positioning discovery
  • Wireframes and conversion-focused page architecture
  • High-fidelity design system with reusable components
  • Copywriting and messaging support
  • Responsive design for mobile, tablet and desktop
  • Accessibility to WCAG AA standards
  • Development, QA and launch
  • Ongoing support and iteration

Conversion architecture, not decoration

Beautiful sites that do not convert are expensive art. Before any visual design begins, we map the journey: who lands on each page, what they need to believe, what objection is blocking them and what the single next step should be.

That map drives the layout. Value propositions lead with outcomes rather than features. Proof sits next to claims. Calls to action repeat at natural decision points instead of hiding in the footer. Forms are as short as the sales process allows, with the friction moved to a later stage where commitment is higher.

After launch we keep measuring. Heatmaps, scroll depth, form analytics and session recordings show where attention drops, and we iterate on the pages that carry the most commercial weight.

Performance and Core Web Vitals

Speed is a conversion feature and a ranking factor. Every additional second before your hero renders costs conversions, and on mobile connections the gap between a well-built site and a heavy one is dramatic.

We build lean by default: modern image formats with responsive sizing and lazy loading below the fold, fonts loaded without blocking render, critical CSS inlined, scripts deferred, and third-party tags audited for what they actually contribute. We target 90 or higher on mobile and 95 or higher on desktop in PageSpeed Insights, and we test on real devices rather than trusting a single lab score.

eCommerce and platform work

For retailers we design and build on Shopify and Shopify Plus, and work with WooCommerce where an existing stack makes that the right call. The focus is the money path: collection filtering that helps people find products, product pages that answer objections and show the right proof, and a cart and checkout flow with the fewest possible steps between intent and purchase.

For SaaS and B2B, we build marketing sites that scale: templated solution, integration and comparison pages, gated and ungated resource systems, and a component library that lets your team publish new pages without design debt.

Redesign without losing your rankings

The most common way to lose traffic is to launch a beautiful new site without an SEO migration plan. URLs change, redirects are missed, metadata is regenerated by a template, and rankings built over years disappear in a fortnight.

Every redesign we run includes a migration plan: a full crawl of the existing site, a URL mapping document, a redirect specification, preserved metadata and internal linking, and staged post-launch monitoring of indexation, rankings and crawl errors. You keep what you have earned and gain the benefit of a better site.

How web design projects are priced

Websites are quoted per project once the scope is clear. The variables that matter are the number of unique page templates, how much of the content and photography exists already, the platform and any integrations, and whether the project includes a migration from an existing site.

We scope in a discovery call and deliver a fixed proposal with a defined page list, timeline and payment schedule, so there are no surprises halfway through. Ongoing support and optimisation are available as a monthly retainer after launch.

Challenge

A dated site with an eight-second mobile load time, no clear conversion path and service pages buried three clicks deep. Sales was receiving fewer than ten enquiries a month from a channel that generated most of the firm's traffic.

Solution

A full rebuild on a modern stack with a new design system, restructured service architecture, outcome-led messaging, shortened enquiry forms and a complete SEO migration plan that preserved every ranking URL.

It finally looks like the company we actually are. Enquiries roughly tripled in the first quarter after launch.

The migration was the part I was dreading. We did not lose a single ranking, and the site is dramatically faster.

Frequently asked questions

Something not covered here? Ask us directly on a free strategy call.

How long does a website project take?+

A focused marketing site typically takes six to eight weeks from discovery to launch. Larger sites and eCommerce builds usually run ten to sixteen weeks, depending on content readiness and integrations.

Do you write the copy?+

We can. Most projects include messaging and copy support, because layout and language have to be designed together. If you have an in-house writer we will provide the briefs and structure instead.

Which platforms do you build on?+

Modern React-based stacks for marketing sites and SaaS, Shopify and Shopify Plus for eCommerce, and WooCommerce where an existing setup makes that sensible.

Will a redesign hurt my SEO?+

Not when it is planned properly. Every redesign includes URL mapping, a redirect specification, metadata preservation and post-launch monitoring. Sites we migrate typically hold or improve their rankings.

Can I edit the site myself after launch?+

Yes. We build editable content structures and provide training and documentation so your team can update pages, publish posts and add content without a developer.

Do you offer support after launch?+

We offer monthly support and optimisation retainers covering updates, performance monitoring, analytics review and iterative conversion improvements.
